D&B CCL AUSTRALIAN LAUNCH AT CITY RECITAL HALL

A full gear list can be found at the bottom of this case study.
10/11/25

The beautiful City Recital Hall in Sydney provided the perfect environment to launch d&b CCL (Compact Cardioid Line Array) on Thursday August 27th.

Anthony Murdoch, Technical Sales at NAS, opened the night with a warm welcome, followed by David Claringbold from d&b audiotechnik who explored how CCL is the evolution of cardioid array technology in a smaller form factor than previously possible. Dave Jacques dug deeper into CCL’s design and strengths with a demonstration of the array’s precise pattern control on stage.

The fantastic turnout was topped only by the glowing feedback from many who heard CCL in action for the first time.

“One interesting moment stood out,” reflects Anthony. “As part of the demo, we encouraged people to walk the room and hear the system coverage everywhere, even behind the PA where there was excellent cancellation thanks to the cardioid directivity. What happened next? A lot of people stayed on stage, chatting about the experience—while the music played loud out front. Was it the system performance… or just our music choice?”

Production company Sightline supplied the CCL system for the event. Adriano Caledoro, founder of Sightline, shared why he’s proud to be one of the first businesses in Australia to purchase the new system. “We bought 16 boxes comprised of the CCL8 and CCL12. When we choose our equipment, we generally buy the best. One of the reasons we bought the CCL is it’s now the lightest in the line array range, it’s the reliability, and we love having d&b as a partner.”

Thank you to all who attended!
