Simple, secure, mobile collaboration system ideal for interactive two-way group communications.

Listen Technologies, a leading provider of assistive listening products for more than 17 years, announced that its newest product offering, ListenTALK, is available globally and will arrive in Australia soon. ListenTALK is a mobile, two-way communication system that makes it easy for groups of two or more people to listen and talk with the push of a button. The pocket-sized device enables clear, secure, collaborative communications with the largest range of any traditional portable FM technology — up to 100 metres (328 feet).

ListenTALK is ideal for noisy, crowded and/or mobile environments where people need to communicate with others and wish to avoid having to shout or whisper. Applications include training and collaboration, presentations, guided tours, event production, and language interpretation such as worship services or international business events.

Listen Technologies previewed ListenTALK at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2017 where attendees, including AV and systems integrator professionals, responded very favourably to the product’s range, affordability and ease of use.

“ISE attendees who experienced the technology firsthand were eager to order ListenTALK devices right away, which is a testament not only to the quality of sound the devices deliver, but to a need that exists across industries for a flexible, reliable, mobile two-way communication system,” said Russ Gentner, CEO, Listen Technologies. “ListenTALK users could hear and speak clearly with one another up to 100 metres away despite being in an extremely noisy, crowded environment. That ability to connect and collaborate with the simple touch of a button resonates in a very powerful way among users.”

ListenTALK groups can be set up quickly and easily using the free software suite or docking station tray, or by using near field communication (NFC). Unlike other two-way communication systems that require users to manually select channels and configure each individual device, ListenTALK devices can be configured by the simple push of a button in the docking station tray to accommodate up to 10 simultaneous groups operating in the same space. Users can also easily switch groups simply by touching the ListenTALK device to another leader device to pair. Participant talk-back mode can be set up for one-to-one, one-to-many or all-to-all communication. ListenTALK operates on the 1.9 GHz band (instead of the more crowded 2.4 GHz) with low interference so that transmissions are reliable and includes multi-step encryption for security. In addition, a convenient, portable docking station case is available that charges, stores and programs ListenTALK devices.

“ListenTALK eliminates complicated channel selection and frequency allocation by using smart technology,” said Tracy Bathurst, chief technology officer, Listen Technologies. “The result is a secure, reliable wireless communications system with a wide range that facilitates collaboration among users in mobile group settings, such as tours or training environments.”

Users have the option to carry the ListenTALK transceiver with built-in microphone in their pocket or attach it to a belt or lanyard. The device comes standard with an ear speaker. Additionally, a variety of headsets are available, and ListenTALK is compatible with personal smartphone earbuds. Users can hear leaders clearly, even in large, crowded or noisy environments, and can communicate with leaders and other participants in a group using the one-touch talk-back feature.

Additional ListenTALK features include a removable, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, simple user interface, and global technology that enables devices to be deployed worldwide.

ListenTALK will arrive in Australia soon. More information about ListenTALK can be found here.
