NAS Launches dBTechnologies VIO L1608 at Melbourne Event

Thursday, 23 April 2026
Designed with fixed installations in mind, the L1608 is a compact, active three-way line array that delivers impressive SPL and consistent coverage from a small footprint.

NAS (National Audio Systems) brought the dBTechnologies VIO L1608 to life at Melbourne’s Clocktower Centre, hosting an intimate demo and listening session for a group of industry professionals.

Travelling from Italy, Andrea Brasolin, Application Engineer at dBTechnologies, led attendees through the system’s design philosophy and real-world performance.

Designed with fixed installations in mind, the L1608 is a compact, active three-way line array that delivers impressive SPL and consistent coverage from a small footprint. The system’s integrated A2Net card streamlines deployment, allowing AES/EBU audio and RDNet control to run over a single cable, while an analogue backup ensures uninterrupted performance with an ultra-fast 0.02ms switchover from digital.

A coaxial MF–HF driver is mounted on an optimised waveguide, delivering a stable 110° horizontal dispersion and an even tonal response across the listening area. With a crossover point around 600Hz, the L1608 delivers a natural and coherent midrange while maintaining seamless transition between bands. The side-firing bass reflex port geometry improves internal airflow and acoustic loading, allowing the compact enclosure to produce low-frequency output and overall headroom that belies its size.

In addition to Vio L1608, several other dBTechnologies systems were previewed at the event, including VIO X205 and X206, S115 and S118 subwoofers, and Ingenia IG5TR. Contact your NAS rep for more details on dBTechnologies products.
