CASE STUDIES

Real-World solutions for every project.

ProAVL Asia Case Study: Pier 2/3, home of the ACO

2/2/24NAS
Having spent the last two decades rehearsing underground and playing in international concert halls, the ACO ensemble’s dream of finding a permanent home has been realised following significant investment from patrons and the New South Wales Government. Perched above the harbour in Sydney’s revitalised Walsh Bay Arts Precinct (WBAP), Pier 2/3 is now home to the ACO, the Bell Shakespeare Theatre Company and Australian Theatre for Young People.

ProAVL Asia Case Study: The Plaza Ballroom, Regent Theatre

29/1/24NAS
Bruce Johnston of JPJ Audio and Dave Jacques of National Audio Systems talk us through the audio solution installed in the Plaza Ballroom of Regent Theatre in Melbourne.

Hukanui Bible Church

20/12/23NAS
The church was first built in the 1970s, which in the scheme of all things church-related in NZ makes it practically brand new. Even so, around three years ago the church Elders decided the building needed a serious renovation, improving the facilities and making the place more in tune with what houses of worship are providing their congregations in the 21st century.

The D'Aguilar Pub

10/10/23NAS
A popular Queensland, rural pub embraces the very old and the very new to give its customers the best of both worlds.

ArtHouse Hotel

25/8/23NAS
In the 1970s it was briefly owned by Alan Bond, but we all know how high his cheques bounced, and the building subsequently became available for retail outlets and offices until finally, in 2001, the SMSA found its true calling as a hotel offering top class food and beverages, entertainment, plus spaces for meetings, small conventions and exhibitions.

EastPack

15/8/23NAS
EastPack is very aware that it’s mostly manual work, and with that in mind, the care and wellbeing of its 700-strong workforce at Te Puke requires a slightly different approach for providing a safe and happy workplace. Near the top of the list has always been playing background music for the workers, and with the existing system being little more than ageing boomboxes squawking from the corners of the roof, things needed a refit.

Patrons Brewery

7/8/23NAS
Speaker placement and dispersion would be crucial to balanced and even sound coverage.

Sydney Opera House Concert Hall

24/7/23NAS
When originally opened, the Concert Hall’s purpose was to be the home of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, full stop. Today, it’s still the SSO’s home ground, but the programme is far more varied — Wagner one day, Wu Tang Clan the next.

Williamstown Town Hall

26/5/23NAS
It’s a familiar story: a civic hall that has undergone a design-death by a thousand cuts. No one’s to blame — a space like the Williamstown Town Hall’s 1100-cap ballroom needs to be fit for purpose, and the purpose has changed over the decades.
